Move one PDF table into Excel with the source page still in view.
Upload a text-based report PDF and identify the single table you need. Tablefold extracts the detected grid into an editable sheet, keeps the source page beside it, and flags structure that still needs a cell-by-cell check.
One printed table out of a PDF as an Excel sheet, with every cell checkable against the page it came from
Copying a table from a PDF can collapse headers, merge periods, or drop columns without an obvious warning. A clean-looking spreadsheet is dangerous when nobody can trace a cell back to the page.
Analysts and operations teams with a clearly identified printed table that needs to become editable data for sorting, totaling, or further review.
Point at the table. Inspect the grid. Then check the page.
You upload the PDF and point to one table and its expected structure.
Tablefold inspects the detected grid before preparing the spreadsheet.
The selected table is extracted into rows and columns with structural uncertainties called out.
You compare every important cell with the source page before relying on or reshaping the sheet.
Name the page and the table.
- A text-based PDF with a visible printed table
- The page range and single table to extract in this pass
- The headers, periods, or columns you expect to see
- Any known empty columns, split headers, or formatting risks
A sheet you can still check.
- An editable Excel sheet for the selected table
- A reference to the source page used for cell-by-cell checking
- Notes for empty columns, missing headers, ragged rows, and uncertain cells
- A clear refusal when the document has no usable text layer or printed table
A clean-looking workbook is not a finished check.
- Converting an entire multi-page report into one reliable workbook in a single pass
- Scanned PDFs without a text layer or documents that contain prose but no printed table
- Audit-style tables that depend on parenthesized negatives, em-dash blanks, or complex multi-level headers
- Treating the extracted workbook as lossless, cell-perfect, or audit-ready without source review

Questions
What kind of PDF works best?
Use a text-based PDF with one clearly printed table and identifiable rows and columns. Scanned pages without a text layer are refused rather than guessed.
Can I convert a complete annual report at once?
Not reliably. Tablefold is designed for one selected table at a time because multi-page extraction can merge rows, lose period labels, or drop columns.
What will I receive?
You receive an editable Excel sheet for the selected table, a source-page reference, and notes about empty columns, missing headers, ragged rows, or uncertain cells.
Will every cell match the PDF?
That is not guaranteed. Important cells still need to be checked against the source page before the sheet is used for analysis or reporting.
Does Tablefold use OCR on scans?
No dependable OCR path is provided here. A scanned PDF with no text layer is refused instead of producing a spreadsheet from guessed content.
